OVERVIEW

Gin Rummy is an ageless game involving strategy and skill. Arrange your hand into sets (collections of the same value) and runs (sequential cards of the same suit) while minimizing the number of "deadwood" cards—cards that cannot be grouped. The goal is to reach the target score, usually 100 points, before your opponent does, requiring outsmarting them and claiming the victory.


GUIDELINES

  1. Objective: Reduce the number of "deadwood" cards by forming sets and runs.
  • Sets: Groups of cards with the same value (e.g., three 7s).
  • Runs: Sequential cards of the same suit (e.g., the 4, 5, and 6 of Hearts).
  1. Scoring:
  • Add the opponent’s remaining deadwood points to your score.
  • To maximize points, knock or achieve "go gin" (no deadwood).
  1. Winning:
  • The first player to reach or exceed 100 points wins the game.
  • Prevent your opponent from reaching 100 points first!
